Decora-Kei means "decoration style". You wear as many accessories and layers as possible. For example: A bunch of necklaces, bracelets, hairclips (and other hairaccessories), a few layers of socks, perhaps 2 shirts and skirt.. etc XD. The most know Decora style is "pink decora", and one's dressed in pink, with sometimes slight tones of white or red in it. It is said that the style started when the magazine "FRUiTS" was published. Many mistake Decora for FRUiTS, but FRUiTS is the name of a magazine and photobook. When the magazine was started, more teenagers started to dress up as extreme as possible. Fashion was taken to an "Olympic Level": How many layers can I wear at once? How many buttons can I attach on my jacket? and so on. Only the most unique and extreme fashion was published in FRUiTS. And if there was a picture of you taken and published in FRUiTS, it meant that you were a Fashion God. Some kept on appearing in FRUiTS while some were just a 1 day star. (the last part is what I remember from the "Tokyo Street Style" book, if I find it, I might modify this if needed). Pictures:     |
